Weddings
In the Episcopal Church, a wedding is an act of worship, one which reflects the love and fidelity of God through the love and commitment of two persons to one another.
Chapel of Our Saviour Episcopal Church seeks to support each couple, inviting God’s blessing on their marriage through a rich and vibrant relationship with the congregational faith community and a deeper understanding of God’s presence in the bustle of contemporary wedding preparation.
According to our Christian faith, in marriage, each individual—both separately and together—transforms and matures in God's presence and image. A wedding, then, is a sacred ritual that acknowledges and celebrates your desire to enter a lifelong relationship. Your marriage is a sacrament—an outward and visible sign of God's grace that brings you together and nurtures your love.
Who May Be Married at Chapel of Our Saviour?
The wedding ceremony begins with membership at Chapel of Our Saviour of one or both members of the couple, as well as required premarital counseling with clergy. The sacrament of marriage at Chapel is fully open to same-gender couples. If you would like to be married here but are not yet a member, contact the Parish Life Minister or use the form via the “contact us” button below, so that you may begin that process.
Scheduling Weddings
Weddings may be held at any time of year except during Holy Week, the first week of Easter, the final week of Advent, and any major secular holiday weekend. Weddings are rarely celebrated during the penitential season of Lent. Please note that we are able to schedule weddings with at least six months’ notice and no more than 18 months in advance. Premarital counseling is required of all couples.
